Private transfer of 30min to our comfortable hotel in Vilaflor. This is the highest village of Tenerife, located at 1000m above sea-level, on the Southern part edge of the Teide National Park.

In the morning, a taxi will drive you a few km further North to start a nice and easy walk of 4hrs through a volcanic lunar landscape with strange rock formations. This walks ends in the center of the village of Vilaflor.

Walk of 13km, 450m ascent & 650 m descent and down, aprox 4,5 hrs

In the afternoon you will be picked up in Vilaflor to go to the Cañadas del Teide. This is a 18km wide old crater left after the first Volcano-eruptions on Tenerife; the ones that originated the upheaval of the Island way back in geological history. At the edge an impressive peak attracts your attention: El Teide.

This highest mountain of Spain (3718m) is your goal. After a short walk to the cable car station, you will take the cable car up to 3200m and walk there and back to the Vista Point Picu Viejo (3km, 75m up and down, 1hrs). Then you have to walk for approx. 1.5 hours further to the refuge Altavista del Teide at 3260 m. The hall of the hut opens at 11.00. Kitchen, laundry rooms and bedrooms are only available from late afternoon until very early in the morning. So today you have plenty of time to

enjoy the surroundings. You can take your own food to the top, which you can warm up in the hut. Do not forget your breakfast for tomorrow morning! Drinks are on sale at the cabin.

In the morning, before taking the cable car, we recommend to do another short walk in the surroundings of the Parador, called “Roques Garcia” (3,5km, 175m up and down; aprox 2hrs)

Nothing more beautiful than a sunrise from the top of the volcano. To this end, you have to get up very early: the bedrooms close at 8:00 pm and you have your permit up for 9:00. If you get up around 5:30, you'll usually be on time at the top to see the sun rise. From the hut you must still overcome 450 meters altitude, it will be best to take it easy given the height (Ascent from cable car station to the crater is 0.5km return, 150m ascent/ descent, 2 hrs)
On the descent to the hut you continue to enjoy the rest of the trip to the park again. Then a taxi will take you to a lovely beach with swimmingpool, and not too far from the Tenerife South Airport.

Walk of 13km, 100 ascent (from Mirador La Rambleta), 1240m descent.

Note: You can also take the cable car today (down), but this ticket is not included and you must arrange it through the refuge itself.
